How Does Ativan Works?HOW TO TAKE ATIVAN?One pill should be taken every 8-12 hours. Take it with or without food. Do not take more than 200 mg in any 24-hour period. Take it with or without food. Take with a full glass (8oz) of water. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Take Ativan tablet by mouth, with water Ativan tablets are to be taken whole, not crushed or chewed Keep the tablets in their blister pack until the time of use Ativan tablets may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs The dosage of Ativan will depend on the condition being treated.For adults, the usual dose is 1 to 2 mg three or four times a day. For children, the usual dose is 0.25 to 1 mg per kg of body weight, up to a maximum of 3 mg per day. Take 1 or 2 Ativan pills, with or without food Do not take more than 4 Ativan pills in 24 hours Do not take Ativan if you have a history of drug or alcohol abuse, or depression Ativan may be habit forming and should not be taken for more than 10 days Inhale the medication by mouth with a glass of water. It is recommended to take the dose of Ativan 2 hours before bedtime. The medication should be taken once daily, in the morning or at night.
