Weed and lithium — I don't think the problem with lithium and weed is a an interaction problem. Of course there is the risk of dehydration which can be, as I'm sure you know, a serious one. But the real problem is that most people who need lithium shouldn't be smoking weed in the first place, they should be creating the most healthy life possible. I recently got prescribed Lithium for Bipolar disorder. I smoke weed daily. I have no side effects other than getting thirsty and peeing a lot. Smoking helps me stay grounded which is why I smoke to start with. Lithium helps with the intensity of emotions, weed helps with my sporadic behaviors. I am also worried about side affects physiologically.

Sometime you bitch about the rain, so it hails. My physical heal took a serious downturn so the doctors rolled the dice and decided to cut off my lithium. Lithium saved me from suicide. Lithium has been my guiding light. I've been off lithium for several weeks now...and Life as a New Hire has kept going. I find that incredibly promising. Sure, I have had bad days - too manic, or too depressed. On the plus side, no chapter had taken more than a week to write. Now...I confess, I have 25 ready to submit...and I haven't done it yet because I'm somewhat of an idiot as well, failing to manage my time wisely. I'll get right on it and thanks for sticking with it. If you haven't kept up with the drama...well, you won't be reading this, now will you. :D
